Each class will guide you through a gentle and considerate warm up in order to prepare your body for intense and focused work on isolation, integration, and articulation of all the muscle groups that are essential for running.

Each class will explore gentle yet intense stretching techniques that are useful for all levels of flexibility, and will end with a cool down designed to relax, restore, and thank your body for all the hard work that you ask of it.

The 1 ½ hour class will progress with consideration to all participants and will attempt to address any special requests/concerns.

Please come with an open mind, be prepared to try some new things, and feel free to ask any questions on how to intensify or modify your workouts to fit your needs.

This series encourages you to gain a new awareness appreciation of your body's abilities and needs.

Stability Training

Stability training is essential not only for the long or short run; it is a great tool for exploring your strengths and weaknesses in order to become more focused with your training.

Each class will dedicate a portion of time to explore each participant’s overall stability, with special focus on isolating, articulating, and integrating the muscles of Feet, Legs, and Pelvis.

Core Conditioning

A solid core is more than how many “Crunches” you can do.

It is very important for runners at all levels to address overall core stability in order to maintain optimal posture for both short and long runs.

It is essential for all athletes to train sport specifically, so why do many runners do their crunches lying down?  Think about it, do you run on your back?

Each class will include standing core exercises and traditional abdominal exercises to maximize your workout.

While the standing core exercises are especially important for trail runners who need to maneuver over uneven terrain they are helpful to runners of all levels.

Flexibility

It is essential to have a body that is as supple as it is strong in order to perform at your best and to avoid injury.

Flexibility is not just about touching your toes; to maintain a functional, balanced, and healthy body, we need to address flexibility throughout our entire body.

From your neck, down through your shoulders, upper, middle, and lower back, your hips, elbows, knees, fingers, and feet, how supple are you?

Starting with your FEET and working our way up, you will have the chance to experience new ways to improve your flexibility from head to toe.  You will also have the opportunity to learn how breath-control and the use of certain props can aide in your flexibility practice.

Keep in mind, flexibility training can be uncomfortable, but it should NEVER be painful.

Runners Recovery (Cool Down)

Recovery incorporates gentle recovery exercises, supported stretches, and SMR that will help your body be ready to get up and running as soon as possible,
